The Heritage and Honor of the GFCBW【Hua-Guan Award】
The Top Ten Global Outstanding Chinese Business Women by GFCBW “Hua-Guan Award” was founded by the GFCBW’s Founding President Ko Tu Jui-Chin in 2001. Since then until 2018, there has been 79 award recipients, and every recipient represents the best of the Chinese business women around the globe.
In 2013 I was recommended by Alice Liu, our in-coming Global President in a few month, to enter the candidacy of the “Hua-Guan Award”. I was very fortunate to be selected as an award recipient. Within five years’ time, the Award has not only helped me expand my global vision, but also allowed me to become an even better business woman and leader. Additionally, I have been able to learn and grow from other Award recipients from all over the world – their involvement in philanthropy and community service is something I truly admire and am touched by.
The world is so big, and I am very fortunate to have joined the GFCBW. The GFCBW has introduced me to many successful business women who all exemplify the modern Asian woman – through their perseverance, willingness to fight, and hard-work, these women find success in every single way. Intelligent, graceful, knowledgeable, and kind – these are all characteristics of the women I have met through the GFCBW. In the business realm, there is always a lot of uncertainty and competition, and for a female entrepreneur to manage her marriage, family, and career, it certainly takes a lot of dedication and diligence.
When Global President Alice Liu first asked me to become the Winners’ Club Chair of the Hua-Guan Award, I was very restless and unsure. However, I know that “It is more important to grow than to succeed, and in order to grow, you must give and take on responsibilities”. “To succeed is not to become someone else, but to become a better version of yourself” – this is what the GFCBW has taught me and to become the Winners’ Club Chair of the Hua-Guan Award is the best present I received for my 60th birthday. I will go above and beyond to spread the heritage and history of the organization, and I hope to pass the baton to many more generations to come.
